Significance of Ganesha

1.The god of joy, happiness and success, Ganesha has been blessing his devotees with prosperity and fortune since time immemorial. He has also always stood in front of us whenever we face any obstacles. This is the reason why Ganesha is worshipped before beginning any new thing in life.

2.People seeking happiness, peace and prosperity should bring White Ganesha home. They should also paste a picture of white Ganesha at home.

3.Those who desire self-growth, should bring vermilion colour Ganpati at home and worship daily.

4.The idol of sitting Ganesha is best for worshipping in your house. Sitting Ganesha brings good luck and success.

5. The idol of sitting Ganesha with his trunk tilted towards his left hand should be placed in a house. Ganesha with his trunk tilted towards his right hand is difficult to please.

6. If you want to place Ganesha's idol at your workplace, remember to place an idol of standing Ganesha. This brings energy and enthusiasm to work.

7. Whenever you are placing the idol of Ganesha, remember that a mouse and modak (Indian sweet) should be a part of the statue. This is auspicious.

8.In your pooja-ghar or mandahaasam I heard that more than two should not be kept but some say  to keep only one idol of Lord Ganesha. keeping two or more Ganesha, disappoints Riddhi-Siddhi (Ganesha's wives)

9.Devotees praying for fulfilment of desires should remember to offer Durvayugma (grass) to lord Ganesha daily. After offering Durvayugma, people should chant this Ganpati mantra - ऊं गं गणपतये नम:

10.Swastik is believed to be a symbol of Lord Ganesha. therefore, people suffering from any kind of Vastu Dosha should place a swastik too at home.
