The Power of Commitment

The Power of Commitment

Was our failure to succeed really due to a lack of time, some
unlearned skill, or a much deeper self-esteem issue? Well, we could
probably get a great conversation going as to why so many people have
such a difficult time keeping their commitments. However, I would
prefer to offer a simpler solution—a step-by-step approach that will,
in effect, allow you to set, keep, and ultimately achieve any
worthwhile goal you desire...
"Commitment is doing the thing you said you'd do,
long after the feeling you said it in has passed." Now that's what
keeping your word is all about!
So if "committing to...and then following through" is what you'd like
to do more often, the following five step plan will help you set your
goals and keep your promises, thereby allowing you to ultimately
achieve what's truly important to you...
1) Decide What You Want
Achievers realize some people join the business because they want to
drive a new car; some because they want to earn more money; and some
because they want the extra time needed to enjoy a more rewarding
life. What about you? To stay the course you'll need to be moving
towards something you actually want! After all, part of your journey
is discovering your real why...
2) Know Your "Why?"
True, deciding what you want is your first step, and yet it's only
part of the solution! Therefore, if you really want to set, keep, and
ultimately achieve every worthwhile goal, you'll need to become clear
on why you want what you want. The best part is you'll know when
you've found your "Why" because from that moment on you will do
whatever it takes!
3) Follow A Proven Plan
You either have a proven plan (system or daily method of operation)
you follow, or you don't. If you do, continue moving forward. If you
don't, find someone who has already achieved what you want. Find out
what they did. Do that. And then continue until you achieve the same
result they've already proven was possible. Because it's easier to
keep going when you get results—and it's easier to get results when
you follow a proven plan.
4) Commit Yourself Publicly
After you've decided what you want, discovered why that is important
to you, and are diligently following a proven plan to achieve it,
you're ready for step four: public commitment! Decide in writing that
you will be here, still actively involved, a year from now! On 3" x 5"
cards write out what you want (your goal), followed by a sentence or
two explaining your desire to have this (your "Why?"), and then
include the steps you're taking (your proven plan) to accomplish it...
Give these hand-written cards to 10 people you know, like, and trust,
and would not want to disappoint. Believe me, if you'll do this, you
will follow through.
5) Get Better Every Day
Leaders understand that wherever they are, and wherever they're going,
the journey will be easier if they incorporate a daily personal
development program. So what should yours include? Books, CDs, and
classes. Because when you get better "it" gets easier...
Use this information—all five steps—to guide you and you will be well
on your way to keeping your word and achieving all your dreams. And
that's the real power of commitment!

WHO ARE THE LEADERS OF OUR CULTURE

WHO ARE THE LEADERS OF OUR CULTURE

There will not be any refute to my statement if I say A country's pride is much dependent on its culture and heritage. It is dependent upon the  religion practised by people of that country or the region thereof. To hand over that legacy only such sincere people are eligible who by heart and sole intend to pass on to the postirity.
This did not happen in the case of Bharat not India. First of all let us give a serious thought as to why we call ourselves as Indians. Hindustan is a word coined by Persians as it is derived from the Persian word Hindū cognate with the Sanskrit Sindhu, the local name of the Indus river (Hindustan - Wikipedia). This confirms that we had another name for our great country viz. Bharat. Coming back to the point, this Hindustan is transformed into India for the convenience of the British as India' and people living therein Indians.' When Hindustan is the name of this country coined by the then Muslim rulers what will the subjects as such then be called? 'HINDUS'. This they are not accepting. When people of British are called Britishers America are called 'Americans' let us have our original name of the country as Bharat and we as Bharatas or Bharateeyas. Let the other countries get habituated to call us this way. Internally people who are reluctant to be called as Bharateeyas may be given an option to stay in Bharat or leave depending upon their accordance with this on par with any other subject of that particular country, is called by that country's name.

All along despite so many aberrations the Hindus never felt victimised as this is the nation where the ancisters taught 'Santireva SantiH' meaning let even the peace be peaceful. They never hated their Muslim or Christian brethren. They willingly lived and living, worked and working with them and  the people from different religions especially Muslims and christians live in harmony. Now the days arte changed. reciprosity is more prevailing on acrimony abhorrence.

If we give a sincere thought to this, can't we find it to be   crass and corrupt political system that, aided and abetted by a section of power-hungry journalists, unelected bureaucrats and venal academicians. Are they not trying to denigrate the ordinary Hindu's pride in his ancient culture religion and civilisation.

The Hindu is upset that a corrupt political system in a desperate search for votes will try and bring about cataclysmic demographic change with little regard for language, culture and religious feelings of citizens.

The Hindu is angry that Marxist and liberal historians have spent years whitewashing the crimes of Mughal imperialists and marauding Islamic invaders who looted, pillaged and destroyed Hindu temples while enslaving, harassing and raping lakhs of its people.
This is an incident somewhere in March, I read in 'THE HINDU'
A Muslim girl Suhana from Sagara in Shivamogga district is a contestant in Zee Kannada’s popular reality show ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa.’ The song “Shreekarane, Srinivasane...” sung by her in praise of Lord Balaji and telecast last weekend won resounding applause from the audience and judges. It was also lauded by a number of people online.
A post on Facebook by a group called ‘Mangalore Muslims’ accused Suhana Sayed of tarnishing the community’s image. They said “Do not think that you have achieved a great feat by winning appreciation from judges by singing a song on the stage in front of other men belonging to other religions.” Objecting to her parents allowing her to take part in the show, the post said: “You have chosen the path to hell ... but why are you encouraging others towards destruction?”

The Hindu so far never worried about the past. Now we find people of other religions aplenty spitting venom on religious tolerance and bending people even forcibly towards their religious fanaticism. They are compelling  the majority community of the country to confront such things in the same spirit.

If the situation continues in the same way who is going to save the nation, tradition and culture. Let us not make such people as leaders of our culture.

ISLAM (A small prelude)

ISLAM (A small prelude)
Alexander Murray Palmer "Alex" Haley (August 11, 1921 – February 10, 1992) was an American writer and the author of the 1976 book Roots: The Saga of an American Family. ABC adapted the book as a television miniseries of the same name and aired it in 1977 to a record-breaking audience of 130 million viewers. In the United States the book and miniseries raised the public awareness of African American history and inspired a broad interest in genealogy and family history.
This information has really nothing to do with what I tried briefly to say. But one thing this little passage reveals that the knowledge of real history is more important for a common man to know about his past, may be greatness may be weakness but a blunt reality. Concocted and fictitious or distorted versions of history makes the people meek, sheepish or subdued. Hence knowing history can never be a sin.
I would like to bring about a little information I read here and there, now and then.
It might come as a stunning revelation to many that the word ‘ALLAH’ itself is Sanskrit which I came across long ago from a book written by a foreign author. But to my surprise I read somewhere that In Sanskrit language Allah, Akka and Amba are synonyms. They signify a goddess or mother. As such the term ‘ALLAH’ stands for goddess Durga, also known as Bhavani, Chandi or the likes. The Islamic word for God is., therefore, not an innovation but the ancient Sanskrit appellation retained and continued by Islam. Allah means by and large we can treat as mother goddess.
One Koranic verse is an exact translation of a stanza in the Yajurveda. This was pointed out by the great research scholar Pandit Satavlekar of Pardi in one of his articles.
[Note: Another scholar points out that the following teaching from the Koran is exactly similar to the teaching of the Kena Upanishad (1.7).
The Koran:
"Sight perceives Him not. But He perceives men's sights; for He is the knower of secrets, the Aware."
Kena Upanishad:
"That which cannot be seen by the eye but through which the eye itself sees, know that to be Brahman (God) and not what people worship here (in the manifested world)."
A simplified meaning of both the above verses reads:
God is one and that He is beyond man's sensory experience.
The identity of Unani and Ayurvedic systems shows that Unani is just the Arabic term for the Ayurvedic system of healing taught to them and administered in Arabia when Arabia formed part of the Indian empire.
It will now be easy to comprehend the various Hindu customs still prevailing in West Asian countries even after the existence of Islam during the last 1300 years. Let us review some Hindu traditions which exist as the core of Islamic practice.

A manuscript of the Koran found buried away in a Birmingham library is more likely than not the oldest known direct record of the Prophet Mohamed's teachings, according to an expert at the university where it was discovered.
Carbon dating revealed last month that the four delicate pages of script etched on animal skin were at least 1,370 years old, potentially making it the oldest partial copy of the Koran in the world.
Speaking to The Independent, Birmingham University’s Professor of Christianity and Islam, David Thomas, said the tests tell us the animal from which the parchment for the Koran was made was alive between 568 AD and 645 AD.
“It would mean that the Koran existed substantially as it has been passed down before Mohamed – before the traditional date of the beginnings of his revelations, or maybe even before he was born.”

This information allows us to think about existence of Islam even prior to Prophet Muhammad but albeit he was instrumental to preach and propagate and proliferate Islam.

RAVINDER KAUSHIK THE 'BLACK TIGER'

Ravinder Kaushik, the hero of this factual story, was just 23 when he first went undercover for RAW. Follow his story.

Kaushik is regarded as India's best spy to ever penetrate the ranks of the Pakistan army. Kaushik loved theatre and performing characters as a teenager and that's how RAW spotted him. It is said that Kaushik had learned Urdu, acquainted himself with Muslim religious texts and the terrain of Pakistan during his training. He underwent circumcision also in the process.

He was sent to Pakistan with a new name- Nabi Ahmed Shakir, with all his records in India destroyed. He  completed his LLB from Karachi University after penetrating into  Pakistan and joined Pakistan Army and became a commissioned officer. Eventually, he was promoted to the rank of a Major. On the personal front, Shakir married a girl named Amanat, and became father of a girl.

From 1979 to 1983 he passed on critical information to the Indian defense forces which were of great help. Because of the valuable information being sent by Nabi Ahmed he became famous as 'The Black Tiger' in Indian defense circles, a name conferred by the then prime minister Indira Gandhi herself.

As per a report in The Telegraph, when another officer from RAW was sent in the name of  Inyat Masiha, to get in touch with him, inadvertently blew his cover to the Pakistani forces upon interrogation in September 1983. He was sentenced to death in 1985 for spying but the punishment was later reduced to life imprisonment.

Kaushik was tortured for two years at an interrogation centre in Sialkot, jailed in Mianwali for another 16 years and was left to die. In November 2001, Kaushik succumbed to pulmonary tuberculosis and heart disease and died in the New Central Multan Jail. He was buried behind that jail.

KARMA - ACTION

KARMA - ACTION

Spare a little time and think for a while about action(Karma). Don't you feel that 'Action' is the insignia of life. Can you think of a fraction of a second yourself abstaining from any sort of action? Impossible. For that matter even remaining static is also an 'action'.

We can compare action with water of a perennial 'Ganga' river which will not laze till culminates into the sea. No impediments,no hindrances, no hurdles can stop its flow till it reaches its destination viz. the sea. So many impurities join with it. Still it remains pure. It has a purpose and it will not rest till it attains its resolution or commitment. That should be the attitude. The more the brisk your commitment the more perfection you get in your action.
Having come into the world with so many 'Vasanas'(Desires) and various permutations and combinations of 'Trigunas(Satwa,Rajas,Tamas)'
we are destined to do our KARMAS (Deeds) good or bad. The control and concentration of our MANAS (No equivalent in English) can help us move in the right direction. This can be attained by YOGA(Not the one on which we spend thousands or lakhs of rupees for want of health, beauty or tranquility.) It is a sincere effort to connect 'Self' to God.
Instead if you want remain as water in a pond with less action or no action, sooner or later you will become filthy, dirty coupled with foul smell. A stagnant water personifies inert, static or actionless person who is useful neither to himself nor to the society.
Bhagwan in Gita says:
na hi kascit ksanam api
jatu tisthaty akarma-krt
karyate hy avasah karma
sarvah prakrti-jair gunaih (Chapter3- Shloka5)
All men are forced to act helplessly according to the impulses born of the modes of material nature; therefore no one can refrain from doing something, not even for a moment.
Hence let us dedicate to do good.
Swasti.
