BANANA FLOWER

BANANA FLOWER

https://ramamohanraocheruku.blogspot.com/2016/11/banana-flower-its-pretty-common.html

It’s pretty common knowledge that bananas are good for us, but we do not mind to know that how much banana flowers are useful for us in our food in the day today life. The health benefits from it are aplenty. These flowers are also referred to as “banana blossoms”, they being the beginning stages of what would eventually become a banana.

Common to South-East Asia, they appear a lot in this region’s cuisine. They are a tear shaped purple-ish flower that hangs at the end of banana clusters. Aside from tasting like a less strong and more delicate banana, they come with an incredible array of health benefits. They are abundant in fiber, protein, potassium, vitamins A, C, E, and K, and iron. Making them an addition to your kitchen is a boon to your health. Banana flowers can help strengthen and repair the uterus. Vitamin C is known to aid tissue repair, such as after child birth. It increases lactation by stimulating progesterone hormone levels for breast milk. Controls the menstrual cycle and helps reduce excessive bleeding, especially when paired with yogurt. It’s clear to see that this fruit is hugely beneficial to women.

They lower blood pressure because of the high potassium. Heal anemia because of the rich iron content to replenish hemoglobin levels. It inhibits the growth of pathogenic bacteria, which helps heal wounds and prevent infections. Its antioxidant properties are known to fight cancer and heart disease as well. Physically, it relieves constipation due to the high fiber content. Helps reduce ulcer pain and prevent them because of the vitamin C. A great dietary inclusion for those with diabetes, as it has antihyperglycaemic properties. The flavonoids inside are excellent insulin receptors.

Banana flower, also called as Arati puvvu in Telugu, bale huvina in kannada, vaazhai poo in Tamil, vaazhai pushpam in Malayalam, is a well-known home remedy for stomach ulcers. The flower is found to help scanty and painful urination. Soup made of banana flower is an excellent natural laxative. People suffering from pain and burning sensation in hands and soles of the feet can benefit from taking vaazhai poo on a regular basis. Bad breath and sweat odor can become a thing of past with regular consumption of banana flower.

Stomach bloating and bilious vomiting can be arrested with consumption of banana flower. Male infertility can be overcome with regular consumption of banana flower. Kidney stones can be cleared with banana flower. Burning sensation in anal area can be cured with consumption of banana flower thrice or four times a week. Banana flower juice mixed with honey or palm candy benefits white discharge in women. This should be taken on empty stomach first thing in the morning. Similarly women with excessive menstrual flow can benefit from taking banana flower regularly. This helps with painful menstruation too. Juice of banana flower (100 ml) taken in the mornings thrice or four times a week reduces cholesterol levels in blood. This also purifies the blood. Obese people can take a soup made of banana flower. Finely cut banana flower, ginger, and coriander leaves are boiled together and reduced to half. A pinch of salt can be added to taste. This is taken four to five times a week. This is found to be helpful in weight management.

I don't know how many use it in their food, or even how many read this article. If you pay attention on this you get benefited. That is it. Your pizzas and burgers will never add anything to your health nor your coke and Pepsi. Swasti.

Catholic Church in Rwanda apologised 1994 genocide

Catholic Church in Rwanda apologised 1994 genocide
In the spring of 1994, violence erupted in Rwanda after a plane carrying then
president Juvenal Habyarimana was shot down. Thousands of ethnic Tutsis, a minority group who became a target after Habyarimana’s death, sought refuge in the country’s Catholic and Protestant churches.
Hutu militia surrounded the churches, shooting into the crowd, throwing grenades into the building, and killing those inside with machetes. According to witness accounts, many died at the hands of priests, nuns, and clergymen. “More Rwandese citizens died in churches and parishes than anywhere else,” the group African Rights, wrote in an account of the violence, in 1995.

**The Catholic Church in Rwanda apologised on Sunday for the Church’s role in the said genocide, saying it regretted the actions of those who participated in the massacres.
“We apologize for all the wrongs the Church committed. We apologize on behalf of all Christians for all forms of wrongs we committed. We regret that Church members violated [their] oath of allegiance to God’s commandments,” said the statement by the Conference of Catholic Bishops, which was read out in parishes across the country.
The statement acknowledged that Church members planned, aided and carried out the genocide, in which more than 800,000 ethnic Tutsis and moderate Hutus were killed by Hutu extremists. ** (** - The Guardian, 21 November 2016)
Can it suffice the broken hearts of the kin of the victims? So the essence of the episode is do whatever you want, we have such a God with us who will condone every sin of us and keep a place in heaven for us when we reach there.

Just think within yourself whether you can imagine a massacre of this sort by the priest community of our Sanathana Dharma and expressing their repentance after more than 20 years .That is why Gitacharya says:

sreyan sva-dharmo vigunah para-dharmat svanusthitat
sva-dharme nidhanam sreyah para-dharmo bhayavahah

Know and follow your swadharma that must be your aptitude
It is always better to die following your own dharma than to embrace any other religion. Their's is only religion and not Dharma the way of life.

The image is showing the head priest standing before and looking at the wall hanger (let us say) containing numerous skulls

Mystery of Mount Kailash

Mystery of  Mount Kailash

It is very much surprising to note the fact that Mount Kailash now in Tibet has never been climbed by any mountaineer. Sundaramurthy Nayanar, Cheraman Perumal and avvaiyar who were said to belong to 8th century visited Kailasa Parvatha or Mount Kailash. Also some 900 years ago It is heard in stories that a mystic Tibetan Seer and poet named Milarepa was able to climb the peak of Mount Kailash. Since then there is no trace of anybody having claimed the said peak in the records.

Hinduism, Jainism, Buddhism, and Bon are the 4 major religions that believe Mount Kailash to be a sacred place.

Mount Everest is 8848 metre (29029 ft) in height and its summit has been scaled by over 4,000 people, while Mount Kailash is 6638 metre (21778 ft) and its summit remains unclimbed till date leaving the above two incidents which lack the modern authenticity . So far nobody has any clue to tell the mystic and inexplicable reason that is  beyond human control and understanding.

According to our theology Mount Kailash is the heavenly abode of Lord Shankara with his consort Matha Parvathi Sons Ganesha and Skandha with all the Pramatha Ganas. This is  the reason people adduce as to why no mortal has ever been able to climb it. Even according to the ancient Tibetan legends and writings, “No mortal ever be allowed to walk atop Mount Kailash which is the abode of the Gods and he who dares to climb the Mount and trys to see the faces of the gods will be put to death!”

British climbers Hugh Ruttledge and RC Wilson made the first expedition to Mount Kailash, each based on a different route. Ruttledge was convinced to climb the peak on the northern side of the mountain, but unexpectedly he found very low temperature and the horizon  covered by mist and  was forced to return to base.

The same experience was encountered by Colonel Wilson also who set out his expedition on the opposite side of the mountain, the southwest. Just when he discovered a path for an easy walk to the summit of the mountain, heavy snow began to fall, making the ascent impossible and made him reach the base.

A few years later, Herbert Tichy Australian geologist and mountaineer regional leader asked permission to climb the mountain. It is said that he would be refused, saying: "Only an absolutely sinless man could climb Mount Kailash. And such a man does not exist on Earth!"

Find the ashtounding reason given by Sergei Cistiakov, a Russian climber for his inability to reach the summit: “When we approached the foot of the mountain, my heart was pounding (heart throb we can say). I was in front of the sacred mountain as if it was saying that it could not be conqured by an ordinary human being. I felt extremely emaciated and suddenly I became captivated by the thought that I do not belong on this mountain, it must necessarily come back! As soon as we started the descent, I felt liberated.” However we find no evidence of any Indian geologist, historian or a climber ventured to solve the mistery. Every year thousands of Buddhist, Jain, Hindu and Bönpo pilgrims circumambulate the foot of Mount Kailash, which is 52 km long.

Some Russian scientists have studied the mountain to a great extent and have put forward an idea that Mount Kailash could be a man-made pyramid, and might be the ultimate paranormal phenomenon that connects all the other such monuments in the world where similar things have been observed. It is believed to be the centre of this world-wide system. Mt. Kailash is believed to be the Axis Mundi, literally the ‘Axis’ of the world that provides a connection between the earth and heaven, between the physical world and the spiritual worlds, the celestial centre of the world where heaven meets earth. Legend says that the Mt. Kailash is the earthly manifestation of Mount Meru/Sumeru which is the spiritual centre of the universe according to Buddhist, Jains, and Hindu cosmology.

Here is another strange thing for you to know. At the height of 14,950 feet on the foothills of Mount Kailash, are Lake Mansarovar and Lake Rakshastal which are adjscent to each other. Lake Mansarovar is known to be the highest fresh water body in the world, while Lake Rakshastal has salt-water in it. The shape of Mansarovar is that of the Sun, and Rakshastal has the shape of the crescent Moon! Rakshastal is believed to be the lake of Raavana or the demon, where he performed his penance to please Lord Shiva. While Rakshastal is constantly stormy, lake Mansarovar remains calm throughout all weather conditions. Those who visit the area around the mountain have seen their nails and hair grow to a length in 12 hours, which in normal conditions would happen in 2 weeks! The mountain has an air that causes rapid ageing.

Even with so many studies and many theories, it is believed that no one has ever understood the real reason why Mount Kailash cannot be climbed, why thousands attempted and failed despite of it being a mountain with a height of 6638 metres which mountaineers should be able to do. But some things are fine if they remain the mysteries that they are, no matter how much intimidating they seem, or how long their history has been.

Wonderful article explaining the spiritual phenomena of Mount kailash. But I read an authentic book on the life of Miarepa, but I never came across this point of Milarepa climbing Mount Everest. He was a Great Tantric who used his powers to destroy the sheep of his rivals by creating titanic storm of stones.Later he realised his mistake and approached a great Saint and underwent the greatest suffering as a part training under his guru who knew what this fellow had done earlier. Finally he was relieved of his sins and directly reaches the abode of God with his physical body.

I think the mountain is extremely difficult to climb. Also, as it is too sacred for Hindus as well as Buddhists, there are many people visiting each year. The climbing of the mountain hurts the sentiments of the people and so, mountaineers are not interested in climbing and many times even the government doesn't give permission.

Dattaraya Ramchandra Kaprekar

Dattaraya Ramchandra Kaprekar

 https://ramamohanraocheruku.blogspot.com/2016/11/dattaraya-ramchandra-kaprekar.html

Dattaraya Ramchandra Kaprekar was born on January 17, 1905, at Dahanu, near Bombay. His mother died when he was barely eight years old. His father, who was clerk, brought him up as best as he could. The clerk might not have known much of mathematics, but astrology was his hobby and he taught it to the child.

Astrology introduced Kaprekar to the world of numbers. Calculations thrilled him. He started trying to find the shortest possible routes to solve mathematical problems. He used to spend hours solving mathematical puzzles and problems. In 1927 he won the Wrangler R. P. Paranjpe Mathematical Prize for an original piece of work in mathematics. In 1929 he took his B.Sc. from the Fergusson College in Pune and became a school teacher.

What is the “Kaprekar constant” that he discovered in 1946? It is the number 6174. To see how it is constant, take any four digit number in which not all digits are alike. Arrange the digits in descending order and reverse them to make a new number. If this process is repeated with the remainders, eventually, say, in eight steps or more, the constant 6174 is arrived at and this number then itself.

Let us see how it works. Take any 4 digit number other than 1111 which will not yield the result. The number taken should contain at least two different digits. For example 8991.

Now make the biggest number with these four digits. It is 9981 and the smallest out of these is 1899.Subtract the smaller number from the bigger number. 9981-1899= 8082. Now again out of this number make the biggest band the smallest and subtract the smaller one from the bigger one. 8820-0288= 8532. Again 8532-2358= 6174

We can try with any other four digit number. Say 9801.

9801-0189= 9612

9621-1269= 8352

8532-2358= 6174

The number of steps may be more or less the ultimate answer is the same.

That great man named that number as HARSHADA SANKHYA or HARSHAD NUMBER. Harsha we may equate to Happiness. DA (In Telugu it is in Telugu AND IN KANNADA) Means Giver. That is it generates a sort of exclamation. Such great people should be introduced to children. Then they will come to know about the great Indian and his great work. Above all the parents are inducing the concept of ‘Mathematics- a fun’ in the children’s mind.

Swasthi.

Mystery behind Mount Kailash

Mystery behind Mount Kailash

The famous Mt Kailash is said to be the pillar of the world,
where Lord Shiva resides with his wife Goddess Parvati.
Here’s why the mountain peak is so revered around the world.

Shiva's abode

This epitome of sacredness is located at the heart of six mountain ranges
symbolizing a lotus and lies near the source of some of the
longest rivers in Asia – Sutlej, Indus, Brahmaputra and Karnali River
(a tributary of the River Ganga).

Lord Shiva

According to religious scriptures, it is the heavenly abode of
the Lord of Destruction, Shiva. It is said that he sits
in a state of perpetual meditation
and his seat is the source of all the spiritual power.

Mt Kailash summit

Many attempts were made by mountaineers
from around the world to climb Mount Kailash,
but none of them was successful.

Facts about Kailash Mountain

After a thorough research done by some Russian scholars,
it was concluded that Mount Kailash, is indeed an axis
and nodal point of this world. They put forth another idea,
according to which it is a human-built pyramid,
which is the Centre of an entire complex of
smaller pyramids, a hundred in total.

Sita's abduction

They also believed that the complex may also be the Centre
of a world–wide system that connects many other monuments
or sites, where mysteries and unexplained phenomena,
have been observed. According to the Ramayan,
Sugreev sent in his Vanar Sena to locate Lord Rama’s wife Sita
in all four directions; till this day it is believed
to the most massive expedition ever.

Sugreeva's hint at Mt Kailash's existence

It is said that these monkeys had taken a rebirth
just so they could be a part of this ‘leela’
during the avatar of Lord Vishnu
to annihilate adharmis/anti-Vedic beings in Treta Yuga.

Vanar Sena in Ramayan

It is said, these monkeys had taken a rebirth

just so they could be a part of this ‘leela’ during
the avatar of Lord Vishnu to annihilate
 adharmis/anti-Vedic beings in Treta Yuga.

Three peaks of Himalayas

Not only did it help them expand their horizons of knowledge,
but also find realism surrounding various places.
At the end of their search, they returned with new found information
about three mountain peaks of the Himalayas;
the Kala, Sudarshana and the Devasakha.

It is said that Sugreev had already informed the team
chosen for the North side expedition about the vast expanse
of barren plain land, crossing which they will see Mount Kailash.

Indeed the Vanars found it to be true,
the mentioned land lie in the plains of Tibet, and the location
of Mount Kailash was geographically correct.
If you try to find Mt. Kailash in Google Maps,
you will be directed towards ‘Kailash, Burang, Ngari and China’.

Those of you who are familiar with the tales about this peak,
will be able to identify the grooves which are cut horizontally across
(popularly referred to as the ‘jata’ of Lord Shiv).

Sugreev mentions his team of Vanars about the three landmark peaks-
Mount Krauncha (highly impassable tunnel), Mt. Kama (treeless)
and Mt. Maanasa (abode of birds).

Knowing that Ravana was a devout follower of Lord Shiva,
Sugreev feared that the former would have taken Sita
to those high peaks and seek shelter with his beloved Lord at his residence.

Going by what Russian scholars claim, these mountains shaped in
pyramid forms have been actually built by super natural humans
 who were technologically advanced.

As per Vedas, each of the creation on this planet: tree,
mountain, and river was bought or created
by Vedic Gods for some purpose.

Mount Kailash is not a dangerous peak to summit,
in fact mountaineers from round the world tried
to complete their summit, but somehow could not.
Every year, thousands of pilgrimages from around the world,
come here to circumambulate the foot of Kailash,
as a part of holy ritual, which they believe purifies their soul.

Many Hindu devotees believe that one must not hinder Lord Shiva
and his ascetic life, by summiting Mt Kailash. Hence,
climbing Mount Kailash has been forbidden. In Tibet,
it is believed that only one monk went atop the sacred mountain,
Milarepa; upon his return, he forbade that none shall disturb
 the Lord residing there.

A popular belief in various religions, including Hindu,
is that Mount Kailash is the stairway to heaven. It is said, Mt. Kailash,
a great mass of rock soaring to over 22,000 feet has the unique distinction
of being the world's most venerated holy place at the same time
that it is the least visited.

This mythological heritage, which is a massive black rock
soaring to over 22,000 ft., has actually no man-made mode to reach,
i.e. no planes, trains or buses could help you get there.

The journey up there require weeks of difficult walking,
along dangerous path. Yet, each year thousands of pilgrims
from round the world throng the foothills to witness
the magnificent abode of Lord Shiva.

Not just Hindus, but three other major religions
believe in the sacredness of Mt Kailash- Jainism,
 Buddhism, and Bon.

At Mt Kailash’s foothills are two holy lakes,
Mansarovar and Rakshastal. On an altitude of 14,950 feet,
Lake Mansarovar is the highest body of fresh water
in the world, whereas Lake Rakshastal has
its own legendary significance

Rakshastal, the lake of demon, is also known as Ravana Tal.
According to legends, King of Demons, Ravana,
performed strict penance on the foothills of Mt Kailash,
in order to please Lord Shiva; thus creating Rakshatal.

Lakes Mansarovar and Rakshatal are regarded as
‘brightness and darkness’ respectively. And, unlike the former one,
Rakshatal has salty water and no presence of aquatic life-plants or fish.

It is believed that Mount Kailash is the Axis Mundi,
a celestial center of the world, where heaven meets earth.
Even Google Maps shows Mount Kailash, as the Axis Mundi.

Any given day, Lake Mansarovar remains calm,
irrespective of weather conditions, while Rakshatal remains stormy

It is believed that Mount Kailash has an air of mysterious ageing.
Nails or hair growth in two weeks under normal conditions
are doubled in just 12 hours spent around Mt Kailash.
