JAMBUDWIPA MENTIONED IN THE SANKALPA
https://ramamohanraocheruku.blogspot.com/2016/07/jambudwipa-and-sankalpa.html
Whenever we invite a priest more aptly a purohit all of us
would have probably heard the words, ".....Jambudveepe          Bharatha Varshe Bharata Khande....." from him during the       sankalpa mantram
without which the puja will not start.   However, Some, who reside abroad will
have the doubt as to   how they must modify sankalpa mantra that suits the   etymology of those countries where they are residing. This   post may fulfill
their need.
Jambudveepa consisted of modern Asia, Europe,
Africa and   North America and not merely the Indian subcontinent.
This Jambudvipa was divided into nine Varshas   (geographical  regions) of which one was Bharatha Varsha.   The other eight
varshas were:
2   Ketumula Varsha
     Hari Varsha
4   Ilavrita Varsha
5   Kuru Varsha
    Hiranyaka Varsha
7  Ramyaka Varsha
8  Kimpurusha Varsha
   Bhadrasva Varsha.
(Refer to the picture to get a clear idea of
this).
What is amazing is the fact that our ancestors had an
excellent overview of the geography of the world back then.
The seven continents of the Puranas are stated as
Jambudvipa, Plaksadvipa, Salmalidvipa, Kusadvipa, Krouncadvipa (క్రౌంచ ద్వీప), Sakadvipa, and
Pushkaradvipa. Krouncadvipa is for America only.
There are two versions used by Indians in America. One
Krouncha dweepe. Ramanaka Khande, Another one is Krouncha dweepe go-dweepa
khande. This depends on the practice adopted by the native Indians
in the
respective regions. In Singapore and surrounding countries it
will be Jamboodweepe, Bharata Varshe Bharata Khade is to be adopted.
Swasthi.
